More than ever, organizations are embarking upon large-scale change and in doing so, they are challenged with motivating and aligning employees behind what it will take to achieve business goals. Leaders play a critical role in articulating the reason for the change, the vision for the organization and what employees should be doing differently. Simply put, effective leader communications drives change and performance.

A study by Towers Watson found companies that are highly effective at change management, engagement, and communications are also:

  • 5 times more likely to outperform industry peers.
  • 20 percent more likely to report lower turnover rates.
  • 5 times more likely to have managers who actively support the vision.

During this program, Meredith Henry, Account Lead, Gagen MacDonald, will outline the best practice approach for designing communication strategy that accounts for the way humans respond to change and the way to equip leaders to lead an organization through transition.

By attending this program, participants will walk away with an understanding of:

  • How the brain responds to change and how communication strategy can equip employees to adapt and perform.
  • The five reasons that leaders hesitate about communication and the strategies to address them.

About Meredith Henry: With deep experience across numerous industries, Meredith Henry specializes in applying change and communication theory to solve business challenges. Drawing on her background in consulting and many years working in-house at McDonald’s Corporation, she has expertise in using strategic communication to drive alignment and facilitate change within organizations.

She served as change lead for numerous transformations – ranging from global technology implementations to culture change strategy aimed at shifting behavior for nearly 1 million front-line employees. She has partnered closely with executive leadership to design the change communication strategy for major organizational restructurings and to deliver a global turnaround strategy. In her role as Account Lead at Gagen MacDonald, a premier strategy execution consulting firm, she is responsible for designing and executing long-term strategy for elevating results within organizations through communication, leadership, and engagement.

Meredith specializes in leadership alignment and leveraging stakeholder relationships to lead change. She has facilitated diverse leadership teams to define a common strategy across decentralized, global geography. She has been invited to present at industry events including the Research Board Global Workforce Management Council and served as a guest lecturer at her Alma Mater.

Meredith received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Communication from Alma College.
