Awards Banquet

The 1996 STC-PMC Awards Banquet was held on April 18th at Williamson's in Bala Cynwyd. The following awards were presented:

DuPont - Informational Brochures, Organizational Manuals, and Quick Reference Guides
Hewlett-Packard - Informational Brochures, Newsletters, Promotional Brochures, Quick Reference Guides, and Trade News Articles
ICF Kaiser - Informational Brochures
IEEE - Magazine
Okidata - Hardware Installation, Hardware/Software, and Hardware User Guides
Lockheed Martin - Informational Brochures
The Scientist - Trade News Articles
Unisys - Software Combination User/Reference Guides
University of Delaware - Annual Reports, Informational Brochures, Newsletters, Organizational Manuals, and Trade News Articles
Vertex - Books and Software Combination User/Reference Guides

Mike Sharp, manager of STC-PMC's Employment Committee, says the employement e-mail distribution list continues to grow. He mentioned more of a balance recently between contract and regular jobs. Note that Mike has a new e-mail address: mike_sharp@usa.pipeline.com.
Whitney Quesenbery, co-manager of the Online/Multimedia PIC, announced that the PIC's meetings set for June 11 and July 16 would both be held at the Institute for Scientific Information, located at 3501 Market Street in Philadelphia.
STC-PMC officers and PIC managers all received certificates in recognition of their efforts as volunteers. Ian Johns and Jeff Stein, competition managers, were also recognized, as were the competition judges.
Bev Bruns, chapter Vice President, said that 12 people signed up as volunteers at last month's meeting. She announced that Mike Sharp will be running for vice president next year, but that a candidate for chapter Treasurer is still needed. (Bev will run for chapter president next year.)
Bev also noted that Alan Muirhead, a new member, has offered to take over the newsletter for next year, and that Steve O'Neill will be the competitions manager.
