Workforce Investment Act

If you are unemployed and want to get free training  to brush up on your skill sets or to learn something new, take advantage of the Workforce Investment Act (WIA).

To do this, call your local CareerLink office and  tell them that you are unemployed and that you are interested in the Workforce Investment Act (WAI) training programs.

If they tell you that money has run out, ask to be put on a waiting list.

The amount of money you receive for training depends on the county in  PA that you live in. For example, you will receive $4,000 if you live  in Chester County.

You may not see a particular program you are interested in, but you  may also do more research into the approved training centers and take  almost any courses they offer.
